Welcome to Our Pack!

Thanks for visiting Cub Scout Pack 511's new website!
As you explore our site you will learn more about us and the world of Scouting. Our Pack is very active and we serve boys from the Woodridge IL school district 68. We are part of the Thunderbird District and Three Fires Council. We would love to hear from you so feel free to drop us an email or stop by one of our Pack events. We have lots of fun and we know you will too.

Remember Cub Scouting, is "Where the Adventure Begins..."!

Our Pack serves all boys from 1st through 5th grades in the area, primarily serving Goodrich, Willow Creek and Meadowview Schools. Come join us for camping, hiking, rock climbing and learning about the outdoors! Build and race Pinewood Derby cars and Raingutter Regatta boats! Meet other boys of your age, and do new and interesting things.

Parents, this is a program that is all about developing character and life skills. Not just the "work hard and you can win" kind of character, but all of the pillars of character, and then some. This is a program that is geared at its very heart toward helping boys grow up safely to become good men. Learn more about this time honored and exciting program.

Meetings for the pack are monthly, on a Friday night at one of our three primary schools. Check out our Calendar for upcoming meetings and other activities, or contact us here for more information.

We are Volunteers

E-mail Print PDF

Our pack is run by parent volunteers. We are doing well in terms of pack and den leadership.  We are in need of an Assistant Committee Chair and Assistant Cubmaster.  We always need parents to "hero" pack events that are planned throughout the year.

It is important to realize that NOBODY came to this Pack knowing how to perform their role, and that the Pack has trained everyone in their position. You do not need to have any experience of prior knowledge about these positions; just a positive attitude and willingess to help out.  The Pack will train you in whatever job you take on.

Guidelines for Heroes

Be A Hero!

All of the events and management of our pack is done by parents of pack members. This is an entirely volunteer organization, and without volunteers, we cannot do ANYTHING. We frequently get questions from parents about what the different jobs entail, and how to go about becoming a hero for an event. This information is intended as a "getting started guide" for Heroes.

So, the first step is to volunteer. This can be done simply by contacting the Cubmaster, the Committe Chair, or a Den Leader. You can do this by phone, after a meeting, during a meeting, at a committee meeting, or any other way you can think of.

Pack Organization

All of the Scouting organizations in the Woodridge/Lisle/Naperville area are members of the Thunderbird District in the Three Fires Council. The Pack consists of boys who join our local group. The Pack is sub-divided into Dens by school grade. Each Den works on age appropriate activites and advancement skills. Badges, pins, segments are awarded for most of the events and the scouts can display them on their bragging vests and/or uniform. The Scouts programs are excellent ways to develop character.

Our Pack Organization

Cub Scouting is organized into "packs", with each pack centered around some community group. Like all registered scouting units, Cub Scout Pack 511 is sponsored by a chartering organization. Pack 511 is chartered through the Goodrich School Organization (GSO) and the Willow Creek Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). Both organizations are located in Woodridge Illinois. Our association with both organizations, spans over 36 years.
